While modern veterinary care allows pets to live longer, we also see an increase in diseases associated with aging and a decrease in their health span. Canine cognitive dysfunction (CCD), more commonly known as "doggy dementia," affects approximately 30% of dogs > 11 years old and around 70% of dogs > 13.5 years old. 

Idiopathic epilepsy is a common cause of seizures in dogs. It affects between 0.6-0.8% of the world’s dog population. Over two-thirds of dogs will require medicating with multiple anti-epileptic drugs (AEDs) and still struggle to achieve adequate seizure control.

Medium-Chain Triglycerides

The two medium-chain triglycerides (MCTs) of interest for their anti-seizure, behavioral and cognitive-enhancing effects are octanoic (C8) and decanoic (C10) acid.
